In May 2006, Video Games for consoles increased by +20% in units and by +13% in value vs last year.
The PS2 video games increased by +13% in units but decreased by -8% in value compared with May 2005. The X-Box video games went down by -40% in units and by -61% in value, and GameCube video games decreased even more sharply, by -30% in units and by -38% in value.
The average price of Video Games for Consoles went down by -6% from 37.9€ in May 2005 to 35.6€ this year. The market was as concentrated as in 2005: 84 items accounting for 50% of sales units and 50 items in value versus 87 and 44 in 2005.
There were 99 new releases that appeared in the market. They accounted for 13% of all sales units and 16% of turnover.
