MOBILE DISTILLERY’S CELSIUS PLATFORM CHOSEN BY ATOS WORLDLINE FOR PORTING MOBILE BUSINESS APPLICATIONS

Paris, France & London UK: October 3 2007 – Mobile Distillery, the specialist Java and BREW mobile porting software company, today announced it has entered into a three year licensing agreement with Atos Worldline, an Atos Origin Company and a major European player in the processing of high-volume electronic transactions. Atos Worldline will now base the majority of its mobile development and porting pipeline around Mobile Distillery’s Celsius platform, specifically for large volume porting to over 150 handsets. Celsius is a comprehensive development, optimisation and porting platform for mobile applications across Java and BREW.

As a mobile business applications developer, using Celsius is key for the success of our business model. Without Celsius, developing a mobile application across close to 400 different handsets with constant back-filling would be too costly. Moving to Celsius enables us to focus on the development itself and move away from tedious porting issues. It also helps us reduce time to market and reduce the overall cost of developing mobile business applications,” said Michel-Ange Camhi, R&D Project manager at Atos Worldline.

With the advanced Celsius platform, it’s possible to develop mobile applications across a wide range of phones with one source code only and port multiple optimised versions, one for each phone, in just a few clicks. Celsius gives licensees access to an advanced suite of tools and allows mobile developers to run client-server applications or access advanced handset features such as GPS, Bluetooth, or NFC (Near Field Communication) through the platform’s UI.

At Mobile Distillery we are seeing more and more client-server mobile applications on the market which need to deliver advanced functionality as part of an integrated web and mobile strategy. The challenge companies face will be delivering something that can reach millions of existing handsets, without being crippled by the traditional costs of porting and testing to every model of mobile phone, even the iPhone”, said Vincent Berge, Co-Founder and General Manager of Mobile Distillery. “Celsius gives development houses of all sizes, the ability to quickly and efficiently develop for up to 650+ different makes and model of mobile phone; we believe that this kind of technology is one of the leading solutions to the ever-expanding complexity of mobile technology,” Berge concludes.

Built on a rich media and connectivity feature set, Celsius was designed from the ground up with open and plug-in technology capabilities to bring flexibility to developers, whatever their focus. Using the various tools within Celsius, developers can address the full range of mobile functions through a single User Interface.

Over the last two years Mobile Distillery has added a host of new features for mobile application developers, including support for Flash Like Forms (FlashLikeForms®) Enhanced HTTP and Java-to-BREW porting. Developers can find more information, as well as a dedicated Celsius Developer Forum at https://forum.mobile-distillery.co.uk.

With over 300 programmers trained with Celsius on a worldwide basis, over 200 mobile applications & games have been produced or are in production using Celsius.
