France: Video on Demand market turnover expected to double in 2007
| The Video on Demand Monthly Report, co-released by GfK and NPA
Conseil since July 2007, has revealed that the VoD market* in France is making
good headway. Indeed, Year to Date sales turnover is now topping €20 million,
corresponding to 5.8 million paid content being watched.
The Q3 figures, with a +25% turnover increase compared to Q2, show an
accelerating growth rate. This could consequently result in a +35% turnover
increase in Q4, bringing total turnover to €30.5 million for 2007. |

Compared to the 2006 estimation (around €16 million), the VoD market turnover
is expected to double in 2007.
Mainly focused on rental sales (around 99% of the content watched in volume),
VoD in France is heavily concentrated on movies, with more than 67% market share
(based on volume, without integration of subscription VoD sales).
